Up until recently, Cleverly-Steelworks was the biggest name in modern Victorian technology. Eleanor Cleverly used her considerable genius to invent new technologies, and Julius Steel found ways to turn those inventions into cold, hard cash.
But when Julius decided to sell some of Eleanor’s inventions to the military, Eleanor felt that was a step too far. She wanted to change the world, not destroy it. Eleanor deconstructed her inventions, turning them into jewelry in the hopes that she could make something beautiful out of something so terrible.
Julius, forced to confront the fact that he was simply not capable of the leaps of genius of his former partner, took some of Eleanor’s old blueprints and constructed a genius automaton to help him with the brainstorming. His work on the automaton drained his coffers, leaving him in debt and forcing him to auction off Eleanor’s old prototypes to make ends meet.
Eleanor doesn’t intend to let Julius auction off such dangerous technology, but she’s not the only person with a score to settle. One way or another, someone is going to make sure that death is for auction…and Julius Steel is the highest bidder.
